There is a role within the Department of Sustainable Infrastructure, where we're looking for a leader to champion a high-performance culture, focused on infrastructure engineering, project management, operational and program planning, stakeholder relationship management, financial management and leading people in a fast paced and progressive workplace. For the Engineering Design Solutions Branch we are looking for a multi-disciplinary engineering professional with expertise in municipal infrastructure planning and design, inclusive of transportation, water, wastewater and drainage systems. The Manager is a member of the Department’s management team, will lead and/or participate in infrastructure planning, integrated project planning, policy development, special initiatives.

General Responsibilities & Requirements
• Lead a team of professionals responsible for progressive engineering infrastructure designs to provide sustainable services to the community.
• Create relationships with community representatives, partners and other stakeholders to plan programs and projects.
• Negotiates and coordinates contracts, agreements, partnerships, and other undertakings related to the branch programs and services on behalf of the branch/department with other departments, agencies, government, public and private groups and individuals.
• Knowledge of specific issues, trends and challenges within the context of the broader Department and understanding of broader operations
• Extensive knowledge of engineering standards and principles related to planning, design, construction, , and management of municipal infrastructure and the environment
• Extensive knowledge of the municipal infrastructure, services and programs related to roadways, traffic, water and wastewater.
• Knowledge of the bylaws, provincial and federal laws, policies, regulations, and operating agreements in order to ensure compliance in practices and policy as well as staff compliance
