The Opportunity:
Community and Social Impact Regina is seeking a passionate, dynamic and strategic Communications Lead to drive our communication efforts and amplify our impact. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing our strategic communications to support our mission of fostering reconciliation and community development within Regina. The ideal candidate will be a visionary communicator with a deep understanding of collective impact, community engagement, and reconciliation initiatives. CSIR Director of Communications must project a professional and positive image of CSIR at all times, and will report directly to the Executive Director.
What is CSIR?
CSIR is a municipal non-profit corporation. Our work is driven by our mandate "To collectively create, facilitate, and monitor coordinated community and social impact strategies in support of the well-being, health, safety, and social inclusion of community members in Regina within Treaty Four Territory, and Homeland of the Métis.", and is focused on advancing the six priorities of Substance Use, Safety, Food Insecurity, Intimate Partner/Domestic Violence, System Service, and Racism and Discrimination. These priorities have been realized through the Community Safety & Well-being (CSWB) Plan approved by Regina City Council in November 2021.
Community Safety & Well-Being
The CSWB Plan defines community safety and well-being as the ideal state of a sustainable community where everyone is safe, has a sense of belonging, opportunities to participate, and where individuals and families are able to meet their needs for education, health care, food, housing, income, and social and cultural expression.
Achievement of the CSWB plan requires collaborative efforts to promote community well-being and safety, as well focuses on a strength-based approach in response to community challenges through evidence-based responses that address unique local circumstances and the needs of community members in Regina.

Highlights of this position include but are not limited to:
- Understand and apply the principles, best practices, and guidelines related to the communications or marketing function.
- Write, edit and coordinate communications products.
- Integrate communications priorities into planning.
- Manage overall communications planning.
- Demonstrate excellence in written and verbal communications.
- Accountable for the development and implementation of external communications programs.
- Provide expert advice on communications.
- Develop and implement communication strategies and plans covering external, internal and electronic communications.
- Managing, shaping, and driving corporate messaging through various communications platforms.
- Promoting our company’s brand, products, services, and mission through marketing and advertising materials.
- Create and execute communication and marketing strategies, tracking key performance indicators and establishing a brand voice.
- Actively contribute to the growth of CSIR through a cross functional team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic communications, with a proven track record in managing high-impact communication strategies.
- Strong understanding of reconciliation, community development and collective impact.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive, and impactful messages.
- Experience in media relations, content creation, and digital marketing.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and navigate complex organizational environments.
- Experience in leading with a collaborative and inclusive approach.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), using Adobe Suite and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Demonstrated ability to lead others and influence change.
- Some travel and evening/weekend work may be required.
- Other duties, as assigned.

A motivated Individual who possesses strong communication skills, community development ability and can work with various stakeholders. Someone who can establish effective working relationships with many different people and be a trusted member of the CSIR team.
