Position Summary:
Join the City of Regina as a Coordinator, Program Development and play a key role in advancing our waste management and water programming goals.
Reporting to the Manager, you’ll lead impactful projects and track the success of initiatives outlined in Waste Plan Regina and our water programs. This unique opportunity allows you to collaborate across city divisions, engage with diverse stakeholders, and provide direction to leadership in shaping policy to drive meaningful results for our community.

Key Duties:
- Oversee and coordinate the implementation of projects, policies, and actions outlined in Waste Plan Regina and the City’s water programming across various City departments.
- Lead and participate in the development of new or revised policies that support Waste Plan Regina and water programming initiatives.
- Develop and manage projects and budgets associated with Waste Plan Regina and the City’s water programming initiatives.
- Engage with external stakeholders to gather insights and measure progress toward waste diversion and water programming goals, using feedback to refine action plans.
- Identify and address waste diversion issues related to the solid waste master plan through collaboration with various groups and committees.
- Supervise, mentor, and coach staff, providing guidance, direction, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and City bylaws, policies, and practices.
- Act as an ambassador for Waste Plan Regina and the City’s water programming, engaging with the public, community partners, and stakeholders to promote program goals.

Key Qualifications:
- The knowledge for this position is obtained through completion of a University Degree in an Environmental Science or a related field, with five (5) years of progressive & related experience. Preference will be given to those that have experience in the waste management industry.
- Must be competent in strategic development, collaborative community initiatives, organizational development, and design and implementation of public consultation processes.
- Knowledge of Waste Plan Regina and best practices in waste diversion and water programming.
- Strategic and conceptual thinking skills for a variety of issues.
- Strong organizational and facilitation skills to engage and mobilize internal and community stakeholders.
- Initiative and problem-solving skills for complex issues.
- Proven leadership in project development and delivery with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with community groups, businesses, government officials, City staff, Council, and committees.
- Understanding of strategic and long-term planning, policy development, and project management.
- Ability to apply policies in practical settings.
- Skill in integrating data, methodologies, and policy areas into projects.
- Analytical skills to interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
- Professionalism, initiative, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to prepare and present detailed plans and reports.
