Position Summary

The Communications Consultant – Stewardship & Activations is responsible for developing and executing strategic communications that support Tourism Regina’s destination development and marketing goals. This role leads integrated campaigns that promote tourism initiatives, enhance visitor experiences, and increase Regina’s visibility as a destination.

Working collaboratively with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders, the Consultant ensures consistent, coordinated messaging. The position also supports emerging initiatives such as digital visitor services, partner programs, and experiential activations, while maintaining alignment with corporate branding and strategic prioritie

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate stewardship communications strategies and plans that support Tourism Regina’s destination development and marketing initiatives.
  • Create, edit, and manage engaging digital content for websites, social media platforms, email campaigns, and other communication channels
  • Provide strategic communications advice and support to internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with corporate standards.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on stewardship performance metrics to inform decision-making and continuous improvement on destination development projects.
  • Support the planning and execution of integrated campaigns tied to major events, seasonal tourism, and strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support communications with tourism stakeholders, partners, and organizations to enhance collaboration and amplify destination messaging.
  • Develop communication materials, resources, and toolkits to support partner engagement and visitor attraction efforts.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal departments, external organizations, and industry partners.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and optimization of digital platforms and tools that enhance the visitor experience, including website content and visitor-facing technologies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accessibility, usability, and engagement across stewardship and destination development programs.
  • Coordinate travel media and influencer engagement, including supporting itineraries, hosting opportunities, and content amplification.
  • Support user-generated content (UGC) initiatives to enhance destination storytelling and digital presence.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications

  • Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in Communications or Marketing.
  • Experience in tourism, destination marketing, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of communications, marketing including experiential marketing and digital content development principles and practices
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic communications plans and evaluate outcomes
  • Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills for a variety of digital platforms
  • Experience managing digital channels, including websites, social media, and email marketing tools
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to inform strategy and decision-making
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Working/Other Conditions

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively within a team environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required to support events and initiatives
  • May be required to attend meetings, events, and activations at various locations within the city
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and have access to a reliable vehicle
