Hourly Salary: $18.38 - $19.61 As a casual labourer, the base rate will be $18.38, however, employees will be paid for work performed as an Equipment Operator III, at a rate of $28.77 to $29.47/hour.

Position Summary
***This position will be on-going, however the person(s) hired will only receive assignments on an 'as-needed' basis. The position is for a spare-board list operator position to cover sick, vacation, leaves, EDOs, etc.***
Typical duties include in the Roadways & Transportation department are:
Perform general labourer duties in the Roadways Capital Operations branch (Asphalt Plant/Materials Yard) of construction or materials production within the City Operations Division, Roadways & Transportation Services Department. Duties including but not limited to:
- Operate equipment and vehicles assigned to the area
- Load and unload heavy material and equipment
- Cleaning & maintenance activities
Candidates will be screened on the following criteria:
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license. A valid Class 1A driver’s license would be an asset
- Experience operating large and small equipment and hand tools
- Ability to perform heavy physical labour over sustained periods of time in all weather conditions
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain good relations with fellow workers and citizens is a must
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Job Duties: The City of Regina’s Capital Crews are assigned to maintain Regina’s extensive road infrastructure, which includes residential streets, collectors, main arterials, and expressways. This position conducts general labour maintenance duties within the St. John Street, Materials Yard to supply the crews and other operating areas with the construction materials necessary to complete their work.
The typical responsibilities and duties include:
- Asphalt Plant – assisting with repairs and maintenance, clean-out: shoveling, and other general labour duties.
- Materials Yard Operations – operating equipment (skid steer, articulated wheel loader, excavator); loading trucks, material stockpiling, blending, screening and production, and other general labour duties.
Key Qualifications
- Certified and experienced in the operation of heavy equipment/machinery. (skid steer, articulated wheel loader, excavator)
- Familiarity working within a safety sensitive, industrial work site.
Working/Other Conditions
The successful candidates will be required to perform physical labour, outdoors in all types of weather. Depending on operational needs, the position may require working non-standard hours, including weekends.

- Successful candidates may be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check per the City of Regina's Criminal Record Check Policy.
- Proof of education is required.
- Additional assessments may be conducted to evaluate competencies, skills, and knowledge.
